To celebrate its 40th anniversary, the owner of Taiwanese whisky distillery Kavalan, King Car Group, has released a limited edition single cask bottling. Presented in a 1500ml heavy glass decanter bottle with leather and wooden presentation box and stunning whisky glass. Aged in a “highly exclusive” red wine cask, the limited edition bottling is said to be “fittingly multi-dimensional, complex and full of depth.” The single malt whisky is described as having “powerful” aromas of Cabernet Sauvignon, strawberry, bilberry, spice and fresh charred oak. On the palate, it is said to have notes of toffee, berry fruits and spice. Master blender Ian Chang said: “It’s been aged in a very rare red wine cask whose majesty transfers to a richly intense whisky, delivering very distinct berry flavours and luxuriant toffee.”
