With 2003 marked by early flowering, April frost, extreme heat and the earliest harvest since 1822, there was much debate over the releasing of this Champagne. Winemakers were pleasantly surprised with unexpected freshness, delicious intensity and astonishing finesse, which was far from the preconceived ideas about the overheated year. The palate is fruit dominant, with honey, citrus fruits and grapefruit, and a firm freshness which is typical of Krug.
